This matters in protected-port setups, where an admin needs a way to force a cutover away from a degraded port on the Ethernet NTE GE114Pro Card without physically touching the card. If a port on the Ethernet NTE GE114Pro Card starts showing errors, an admin would write a switch action to this OID to move traffic onto the alternate port while the faulty one is investigated.
