Module: CM-ENTITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CM-ENTITY-MIB::ethernetNTEGE114GCardFineGrainedPmInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2544.1.12.3.1.65.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CmPmIntervalType

Access: read-write

Description: Allows specification of the fine-grained PM interval at the card level. This applies to all monitored PM entities. The default value of this attribute is interval-15min. Valid values are interval-5min and interval-15min. interval-1day and rollover are not considered fine-grained intervals.

What is ethernetNTEGE114GCardFineGrainedPmInterval?

This read-write object sets the fine-grained performance-monitoring collection interval — either 5 or 15 minutes, defaulting to 15 — applied to every PM entity monitored on the Ethernet NTE GE114G Card. Switching this to the 5-minute interval gives admins finer visibility into short-lived error bursts or transient link problems on the Ethernet NTE GE114G Card, at the cost of more frequent polling and storage, and it's distinct from the coarser 1-day and rollover PM bins that this setting does not affect. An admin troubleshooting intermittent errors on the Ethernet NTE GE114G Card might switch this from interval-15min to interval-5min temporarily to capture short spikes that a 15-minute bucket would otherwise average away.
