Access: read-write
Description: Whether or not SNMP dying gasp is enabled on the Ethernet NTE GE112Pro Card.
What is ethernetNTEGE112ProCardSnmpDyingGaspEnabled?
This read-write TruthValue toggles whether the Ethernet NTE GE112Pro Card sends an SNMP dying-gasp notification — a trap fired using residual power at the moment of a power loss — when it unexpectedly loses power. Admins enable this so a sudden power loss on the Ethernet NTE GE112Pro Card still generates an alert instead of the card just silently dropping off the network, which is what lets a NOC tell a power outage apart from, say, a planned card removal. A field team deploying the Ethernet NTE GE112Pro Card at a remote, unstaffed site would set this object to true so a power interruption there is reported immediately rather than only discovered on the next scheduled visit.
