What is statSvcOvrOctets?
This read-only counter tallies characters received and deleted on this SVC because the input queue was full, giving a byte-level view of overflow loss to complement statSvcOvrFrames. An administrator uses it to size how much data volume, not just how many frames, is being lost to queue overflow during calls on this on-demand circuit. For example, comparing statSvcOvrOctets against statSvcOctetsRx would let the administrator estimate what fraction of this SVC's call traffic is being dropped for lack of buffer space.
