What is statIflanProtocol?
This read-only enumerated value (off/token-ring/ethernet-auto/ethernet-802p3/...) reports the operating mode of this LAN connection. An admin checks this to confirm the port is actually running the LAN protocol expected for the attached network, rather than assuming from configuration alone. For example, statIflanProtocol reporting ethernet-auto would confirm the port negotiated Ethernet mode automatically rather than being forced into Token-Ring.
