Description: For PVCR mode only. This parameter defines the PVC as a dedicated PVC or a backup PVC. The ANSWER type is used for the PVC that responds to calls. When you install a backup PVC between two units, one unit must be configured in CALL-BACKUP type and the other as ANSWER.
What is pvcType?
This read-write enumerated value (dedicated/answer/call-backup/not-applicable) applies only in pvcr mode and defines whether this PVC is a dedicated PVC or part of a backup pair, with answer used on the unit that responds to calls and call-backup on the unit that initiates them. An admin configures matching roles on the two ends of a backup link so the failover pairing works. For example, installing a backup PVC between two units requires setting pvcType to call-backup(4) on one unit and answer(3) on the other.
