Description: For all PU modes with an LLC connection. Source SAP (Service Access Point) used by the unit for this PU. For an LLC-HOST application (LLC side acts as primary unit), the unit can handle multiple PUs over the same pair of network addresses: the host LAN destination address (DA) and the network address of the unit (NA). To distinguish the PUs attached to the same host, you must set the Source SAP parameter to a different value for each PU. Valid values are multiples of 4, from 04 to E8. This parameter must also be set in the host configuration. For an LLC-CONTROLLER application (LLC side acts as secondary unit), this parameter should be set to the default SNA SAP, that is, 04.
What is puLlcSsap?
This read-write 1-byte OCTET STRING, applicable to all PU modes with an LLC connection, is the source SAP used by the unit for this PU, letting an LLC-HOST configuration distinguish multiple PUs sharing the same host destination address and unit network address pair. Each PU sharing that same DA/NA pair needs a distinct source SAP value so the host can tell their traffic apart. For example, if two PUs both connect to the same host LAN address, one might use source SAP 04 and the other 08 so the host can distinguish which PU each frame belongs to.
