Module: CLEARTRAC7-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLEARTRAC7-MIB::puDlsSsap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.4.2.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: For all PU modes with a DLSW connection. Source SAP (Service Access Point) used by the unit for this PU. For a DLSw-HOST application (DLSw side acts as primary unit), the unit can handle multiple PUs over the same pair of network addresses: the host DLSw destination address (DA) and the network address of the unit (NA). To distinguish the PUs attached to the same host, you must set the DLSw SSAP to a different value for each PU. Valid values are multiples of 4, from 04 to E8. This parameter must also be set in the host configuration. For a DLSw-CONTROLLER application (DLSw side acts as secondary unit), this parameter should be set to the default SNA SAP, that is, 04.

What is puDlsSsap?

This read-write 1-byte OCTET STRING, applicable to all PU modes with a DLSW connection, is the source SAP used by the unit for this PU, letting a DLSw-HOST configuration distinguish multiple PUs sharing the same host destination address and unit network address pair. It mirrors the role puLlcSsap plays for LLC connections, but for PUs tunneled over DLSw. For example, two PUs sharing the same DLSw host destination would each need a distinct value for this object so the host can tell their traffic apart.
