puBanBnnMaxFrame

Module: CLEARTRAC7-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLEARTRAC7-MIB::puBanBnnMaxFrame

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.4.2.1.46

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: For all PU modes with a BAN or BNN connection. Maximum frame size on the BAN/BNN side of the connection, excluding BAN/BNN and SNA headers.

For an SDLC-BAN connection, if the value of this parameter is equal to that of the puSdlcMaxFrame parameter, then no frame splitting will occur. On the other hand, if the value of this parameter is different from that of the puSdlcMaxFrame parameter, the FRAD will split the frames according to the smaller max frame value. The same is true of a SDLC-BNN, LLC-BAN and LLC-BNN connection.

What is puBanBnnMaxFrame?

This read-write integer, applicable to PU modes with a BAN or BNN connection, sets the maximum frame size on the BAN/BNN side of this PU's connection, excluding BAN/BNN and SNA headers, with the desc noting that for an SDLC-BAN connection matching this to puSdlcMaxFrame avoids frame splitting. It governs whether frames need fragmenting when relayed between the SDLC side and the BAN/BNN side of this PU. For example, setting this object equal to puSdlcMaxFrame for an SDLC-BAN PU avoids the overhead of splitting frames between the two sides.
