Description: Identifies the area to which the backplane belongs. Valid only on rack products.
What is ospfGlobalRackAreaId?
This read-write IpAddress field identifies the OSPF area to which the unit's backplane belongs, and it is valid only on rack products. An admin sets this on chassis-based rack systems so intra-rack OSPF traffic across the backplane is associated with the correct area. For example, on a rack unit deployed in area 0.0.0.2, the admin sets ospfGlobalRackAreaId to 0.0.0.2 to align the backplane's OSPF traffic with that area.
