What is ifwanProtocol?
This read-write enumeration selects the operating protocol, such as off, p-sdlc, s-sdlc, hdlc, or ddcmp, used on a given WAN or user port. An administrator sets this to match the protocol expected by whatever equipment or network is connected to that port, since many of the other WAN interface parameters only apply for specific protocol selections. For example, setting this to hdlc(4) would activate HDLC-specific parameters like ifwanFrameDelay while leaving SDLC-specific ones like ifwanGroupPoll inapplicable.
