Description: This parameter determines whether the port will inform the remote peer that it can enter into Asynchronous Control Character Map (ACCM) negotiation. This option provides a way to negotiate the use of control character mapping on asynchronous links.
By default, PPP maps all control characters into an appropriate two-character sequence. This is usually not necessary. The cleartrac uses the ACCM negotiation option to inform the remote end which control characters must remain mapped, and which ones do not need to remain mapped when the remote end sends them.
Set this parameter to YES to permit ACCM negotiation. Set it to NO (the default value) to disallow this negotiation process.
If you set this parameter to YES, you must also configure the Requested ACCM Characters parameter.
What is ifwanPppNegociateAccm?
This read-write yes/no setting controls whether this PPP port advertises support for Asynchronous Control Character Map (ACCM) negotiation to the remote peer. ACCM negotiation lets the two sides agree on which control characters need byte-stuffing on an asynchronous link, and the desc notes it usually is not necessary since PPP maps all control characters by default. For example, on an async dial-up link that passes through equipment sensitive to certain control characters, an administrator would set this to yes(2) to let the port negotiate a custom character map instead of the default full mapping.
