ifwanFlowControl

Module: CLEARTRAC7-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLEARTRAC7-MIB::ifwanFlowControl

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.2.2.1.42

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Congestion flow control notification. If the FLOW CTRL parameter is ON, the unit will set the Forward and Backward Congestion Bits in the header of the active PVC frame when congestion occurs on the unit port. Forward data congestion affects data transmitted from Frame Relay equipment to the unit port. Backward data congestion affects data transmitted from the unit to the Frame Relay equipment. If the FLOW CTRL parameter is OFF, the unit does not set the congestion bits. In this cas, they are reset to zero

What is ifwanFlowControl?

This read-write enumeration turns Frame Relay congestion flow control notification on or off, and when enabled causes the unit to set the Forward and Backward Congestion Bits in PVC frame headers whenever congestion occurs on the port. An administrator enables this so downstream Frame Relay equipment can react to congestion signaled from this port in both directions of traffic. For example, enabling flow control on a congested PVC would let connected Frame Relay switches throttle traffic in response to the congestion bits this unit sets.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.2.2.1.42
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CLEARTRAC7-MIB::ifwanFlowControl

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.2.2.1.42.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CLEARTRAC7-MIB::ifwanFlowControl.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.2.2.1.42.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ifwanFlowControl.1
