ifwanFallBackSpeedEnable

Module: CLEARTRAC7-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLEARTRAC7-MIB::ifwanFallBackSpeedEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.727.7.2.2.2.1.91

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Enable the Fallback speed mechanism for the transmitter. Fallback is available only if the unit is set for DCE internal clocking. If in DTE, the fallback rate is ignored. Set this parameter to no to disable the fallback. The actual fallback speed is automatically computed and set by the unit. For all user protocols except ASYNC and PASSTHRU. Applicable to SDM-9350, SDM-9400, V352 and V410 only

What is ifwanFallBackSpeedEnable?

This read-write enumeration enables or disables the fallback speed mechanism on the transmitter, which is only meaningful when the unit is set for DCE internal clocking; the actual fallback rate is computed automatically by the unit rather than set manually. An administrator toggles this to activate automatic speed reduction as a resilience measure for most user protocols other than ASYNC and PASSTHRU. For example, enabling this on a DCE-clocked port lets the unit automatically drop to a lower, more reliable speed rather than losing the connection outright when line conditions degrade.
