This read-write integer, from 1 to 100, applying to the COP protocol only, sets how many contiguous desynchronization characters must be received before the unit drops synchronization and closes the current frame. An administrator tunes this to control how tolerant the port is of brief line noise versus how quickly it gives up on a corrupted frame. For example, a lower value would cause the unit to abandon a frame more readily at the first sign of trouble, while a higher value tolerates more consecutive bad characters before giving up.
