Description: When two routers attached to a network both attempt to become Designated Router, the one with the highest Router Priority takes precedence. A router whose Router Priority is set to 0 is ineligible to become Designated Router on the attached network. Router Priority is only configured for interfaces to multi-access networks.
What is iflanOspfPriority?
This read-write value, 0 to 255, sets this interface's Router Priority for OSPF Designated Router election, where the highest priority among competing routers wins and a value of 0 makes the router ineligible to become Designated Router. It only matters on multi-access networks where multiple routers contend for the DR role. For example, setting this object to 0 on a router that should never become the Designated Router on a shared LAN segment removes it from DR/BDR election entirely.
