Description: Maximum frame size, in octets. This parameter determines the largest datagram that can be sent or received on the interface in one IP frame. Datagrams larger than the maximum frame size are divided into fragments before transmission, the reassembled at the remote end.
What is iflanMaxFrame?
This read-write value, 128 to 8192 octets, sets the maximum frame size this LAN interface will send or receive in a single IP frame, with larger datagrams fragmented before transmission and reassembled at the far end. Raising it can improve efficiency for large transfers by reducing fragmentation overhead, provided the attached network and all intermediate devices support the larger frame size. For example, setting this object to 1500 matches standard Ethernet MTU, while raising it toward 8192 could support jumbo frames on a LAN segment engineered to handle them.
