Module: CLARENT-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLARENT-MIB::portInUseCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2858.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Number of ports currently in use

What is portInUseCount?

This read-only integer reports the count of gateway ports actively carrying a call or session right now. An admin uses it as a quick capacity gauge, comparing it against the gateway's total physical port count to see how close the system is to being fully utilized. For example, if portInUseCount reads 30 out of a known 32 physical ports, the operator knows the gateway is nearly saturated and new inbound calls may soon be rejected.
