This read-only enumeration reports the local maintenance state of the telephone line side of a port -- in service, out of service for maintenance, or out of service due to hardware failure -- as determined locally by this gateway. Admins use it to distinguish a port that's deliberately down for maintenance from one that has actually failed at the hardware level. For example, a port reporting ooSHardware rather than ooSMaint would prompt a hardware technician dispatch rather than just waiting out a scheduled maintenance window.
