rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier

Module: CISCOSB-rndApplications

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.4.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OBJECT IDENTIFIER

Access: read-write

Description: The object identifier of the object to which the monitored object instance belongs. An instance of rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier need not be assigned any value, if the corresponding instance of rndMonitoredObjectName is assigned a value, since any one of these, together with the object instance identifier, suffices to unambigously identify the monitored object instance.

What is rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier?

This read-write OBJECT IDENTIFIER gives the OID of the MIB object type being monitored, serving as an alternative to naming it via rndMonitoredObjectName when there's no ambiguity concern or the name isn't convenient to use. An admin sets this when they want to reference the object by its numeric OID directly rather than by symbolic name. For example, setting rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier to 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14 targets ifInErrors by OID instead of by name.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.4.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.4.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndMonitoredObjectIdentifier.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.4.1.4.1 s <value>
