rndDefaultLogFile

Module: CISCOSB-rndApplications

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndDefaultLogFile

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.3.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: The default file path of the log-file which will contain the polling results for the monitored element. If no other file path is specifically assigned to the monitored object instance, this log-file will be used.

What is rndDefaultLogFile?

This read-write DisplayString gives the default file path where polling results for a monitored element are written when no per-instance log file has been specified. An admin sets this so results have somewhere to land automatically, then can override it for specific object instances that need separate logs. For example, setting rndDefaultLogFile to "/var/log/rnd/elementA.log" means all otherwise-unrouted polling results for that element get appended there.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.3.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndDefaultLogFile

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.3.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCOSB-rndApplications::rndDefaultLogFile.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.35.2.3.1.5.1 s <value>
