Module: CISCOSB-rlBrgMulticast-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-rlBrgMulticast-MIB::rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanOperLastMemberQueryInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.55.5.5.1.17

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The Last Member Query Interval is the Max Query Response Interval inserted into group-specific queries sent in response to leave group messages, and is also the amount of time between group-specific query messages. This value may be tuned to modify the leave latency of the network. A reduced value results in reduced time to detect the loss of the last member of a group. The value of this object is irrelevant if mgmdRouterInterfaceVersion is 1.

What is rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanOperLastMemberQueryInterval?

This read-only value reports the actual interval, in milliseconds, currently used between group-specific queries the switch sends after receiving a leave message, which determines how quickly it detects that the last member of a group has truly gone. An administrator checks this operational value to understand real-world leave latency on the VLAN. For example, a smaller rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanOperLastMemberQueryInterval means the switch confirms a group has no remaining members, and can stop forwarding, more quickly after a leave is seen.
