Description: The Robustness Variable allows tuning for the expected packet loss on a subnet. If a subnet is expected to be lossy, the Robustness Variable may be increased. IGMP and MLD are robust to (Robustness Variable-1) packet losses.
What is rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanAdminRobustness?
This read-write value lets an administrator configure the Robustness Variable for IGMP/MLD snooping on this VLAN, controlling how many consecutive packet losses the protocol tolerates before assuming a listener has left. An administrator raises this on a subnet known to be lossy, such as one with frequent Wi-Fi-bridged multicast clients, to avoid falsely dropping memberships. For example, setting rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanAdminRobustness to 3 instead of the default 2 makes membership tracking more forgiving of occasional dropped IGMP/MLD packets on a flaky segment.
