Description: The Last Member Query Interval is the Max Query Response Interval inserted into group-specific queries sent in response to leave group messages, and is also the amount of time between group-specific query messages. This value may be tuned to modify the leave latency of the network. A reduced value results in reduced time to detect the loss of the last member of a group. The value of this object is irrelevant if mgmdRouterInterfaceVersion is 1.

What is rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanAdminLastMemberQueryInterval?

This read-write value lets an administrator configure the interval, in milliseconds, between the group-specific queries the switch sends after a leave message on this VLAN, tuning how quickly it confirms a group truly has no remaining members. An administrator lowers this value to reduce leave latency for time-sensitive multicast applications like live video. For example, setting rlIgmpMldSnoopVlanAdminLastMemberQueryInterval to a low value makes an IPTV channel change register almost instantly after the last viewer's leave message.
