Module: CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyActionNonDsOutProfileDropPrecedence

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.5.2.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This paramer is used at non diffserv mode to attached the drop precedence for packet OutProfile (metering), only if there is a support for drop precedence and with what level.

What is rlPolicyActionNonDsOutProfileDropPrecedence?

This read-write enum (low, medium, high, drop) sets the drop-precedence level applied to packets metered as "out of profile" (exceeding the configured rate) when the device is in non-Diffserv mode. It gives an admin a way to make over-the-limit traffic more likely to be dropped under congestion than in-profile traffic, without switching to full DiffServ. For example, setting this to drop while the in-profile counterpart is set to low ensures a policer discards excess traffic the moment a host exceeds its rate limit.
