What is rlPolicyActionNewIpPrecedence?
This read-write integer (0-7) specifies the new IP Precedence value, the top 3 bits of the legacy TOS byte, written into packets matching this rule. It lets an admin standardize IP-Precedence marking for downstream devices that still base QoS decisions on it instead of DSCP. For example, setting this to 6 on a rule for network-control traffic marks it as internetwork-control priority for older routers that key off IP Precedence.
