OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-POLICY-MIB::rlPolicyActionChangeVpt

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.59.5.2.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Routed packets that run through the Rules receive VPT as define at the service class they attached to, bridge packets receive through the 802.1p operation unless we define to change the VPT for those packets.

What is rlPolicyActionChangeVpt?

This TruthValue controls whether bridged packets matching this rule get their VLAN priority tag (802.1p VPT) overridden, since routed packets already receive VPT from their service class while bridged packets normally keep their original 802.1p value. It matters to an admin because it's the switch that decides whether switched (non-routed) traffic is forced onto a new priority tag rather than retaining what it arrived with. For example, enabling this on a rule matching switched voice traffic forces those bridged VoIP frames to take on the value set in rlPolicyActionNewVpt.
