zoneSetPropagationMode

Module: CISCO-ZS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-ZS-MIB::zoneSetPropagationMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.294.1.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object controls the way zone set information is propagated during Merge/Change protocols on this VSAN.

If this object is set to 'fullZoneSet', then the entire zone set database is sent during Change/Merge protocol exchanges on this VSAN.

If this object is set to 'activeZoneSet', only the active zone set is sent during Change/Merge protocol exchanges on this VSAN.

What is zoneSetPropagationMode?

This read-write INTEGER controls how zone set information is propagated during Merge/Change protocol exchanges on a VSAN: fullZoneSet(1) sends the entire zone set database, while activeZoneSet(2) sends only the currently active zone set. Admins tune this to reduce merge traffic and processing overhead when only the active configuration needs to be synchronized. For example, an admin managing a large fabric with many inactive zone sets defined would set this to activeZoneSet to avoid propagating unused configuration during every merge.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.294.1.1.2.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-ZS-MIB::zoneSetPropagationMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.294.1.1.2.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-ZS-MIB::zoneSetPropagationMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.294.1.1.2.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> zoneSetPropagationMode.1
