cwrThreshHysteresisTime

Module: CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB::cwrThreshHysteresisTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.136.1.8.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeInterval

Access: read-create

Description: When radio signals oscillate around threshold values, they potentially flood the system with notifications. This object specifies the amount of time to wait before sending an identical notification if the oscillations continue. Notifications are not generated due to any threshold value which is reached/exceeded/crossed/etc. during this wait time

What is cwrThreshHysteresisTime?

A TimeInterval, read-create, defining how long the agent waits before re-sending an identical notification if the monitored signal keeps oscillating around the threshold. It exists specifically to stop a flapping signal from flooding the management station with repeated near-duplicate traps. For example, setting cwrThreshHysteresisTime to 300 seconds means that even if a marginal signal crosses the threshold five times in a minute, the admin receives at most one notification every five minutes during the flapping.
