Module: CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB::cwrHistBitShift

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.136.1.7.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: This object represents the number of bits by which the signal count is right shifted before it is stored in the histogram bin. This provides a mechanism to uniformly scale the collected histogram to account for overflows.

What is cwrHistBitShift?

An INTEGER (0..32), read-create, specifying how many bits the raw signal count is right-shifted before being stored in a histogram bin. This scales down large raw counts so they fit the bin's storage without overflowing, at the cost of some numeric precision. For example, setting cwrHistBitShift to 4 divides every sampled value by 16 before it is recorded, preventing bin overflow when the underlying counter reaches very large values.
