cwrCableLoss
Module: CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB::cwrCableLoss
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.136.1.3.2.1.8
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object represents the measured loss in signal power in dB that is imposed by the cable connecting the radio to the antenna head. This value enables the hardware to compensate for the cable loss by adjusting the gain appropriately. A value of 0 represents no degradation in signal due to the cable. This cable loss applies to the transmit antenna identified by cwrTxRfIndex.
What is cwrCableLoss?
This read-write INTEGER, in dB, from 0 to 50, records the measured signal loss imposed by the cable connecting the radio to the transmit antenna identified by cwrTxRfIndex, letting the hardware compensate by adjusting gain accordingly; 0 means no cable degradation. An admin enters this value based on a cable-loss measurement at installation so the system's power reporting and gain compensation account for the real cable run. For example, after measuring a 3 dB loss on a long antenna feed cable, the installer sets cwrCableLoss to 3 so the radio compensates its transmit gain.
