cwrArqBurstSize
Module: CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WIRELESS-IF-MIB::cwrArqBurstSize
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.136.1.4.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: This object specifies the maximum number of consecutive ARQ codewords that will be transmitted. ARQ codewords are transmitted for error correction. When an ARQ codeword is transmitted, a data codeword cannot be transmitted in that time slot, resulting jitter on the received data stream. Lower the value of the burst size, lower the peak jitter values.
What is cwrArqBurstSize?
This read-write Integer32 (1 to 63) specifies the maximum number of consecutive ARQ codewords that can be transmitted in a row for error correction; since a data codeword can't be sent during that time, a lower value reduces peak jitter on the received data stream. An admin lowers this on links carrying jitter-sensitive traffic, accepting a possible tradeoff in error-correction efficiency. For example, on a link carrying real-time video that is sensitive to jitter spikes, an admin might reduce cwrArqBurstSize to smooth out the delay introduced by long runs of ARQ retransmissions.
