It gives an admin the minute-resolution total-volume figure needed to compute a minute-by-minute codeword error rate alongside cwr1MinErroredCodewords. For example, an admin building a fine-grained error-rate chart for a short troubleshooting window would divide each minute's cwr1MinErroredCodewords by that same minute's cwr1MinCodewords.
