cwoGeneralCpuThrottleHigh

Module: CISCO-WAN-OPTIMIZATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-OPTIMIZATION-MIB::cwoGeneralCpuThrottleHigh

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.762.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This object contains high threshold (percentage) value of CPU usage of system when WAN optimization feature is running. The current CPU utilization, stored in cpmCPUTotalMonIntervalValue, is compared against this value. A cwoCpuThrottlingOn notification is generated whenever cpmCPUTotalMonIntervalValue exceeds cwoGeneralCpuThrottleHigh for cwoGeneralCpuThrottlPeriod.

What is cwoGeneralCpuThrottleHigh?

This read-write Unsigned32, as a percentage from 1 to 100, sets the high CPU threshold compared against cpmCPUTotalMonIntervalValue, and per the description a cwoCpuThrottlingOn notification fires whenever CPU utilization exceeds this threshold for cwoGeneralCpuThrottlPeriod. An admin tunes this to control at what CPU load level the device starts throttling WAN optimization to protect overall system stability. Lowering this threshold on a device also running other CPU-intensive features would make it throttle optimization earlier, before CPU contention affects those other functions.
