Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the SMB AO. The last discontinuity time is indicated by the value of cwoAoStatsLastResetTime for the SMB AO.
What is cwoAoSmbxStatsTotalRemoteReqs?
This read-only Counter64, in requests, contains the total number of SMB requests sent to the remote file server since the SMB AO was started, with discontinuities possible at re-initialization, indicated by cwoAoStatsLastResetTime. An admin compares this to cwoAoSmbxStatsTotalLocalReqs to see the balance between requests that had to cross the WAN to the actual file server versus those served locally. A high remote-request ratio would indicate limited benefit from local caching for this workload.
