Module: CISCO-WAN-OPTIMIZATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-OPTIMIZATION-MIB::cwoAoSmbxStatsRdSignLANBytes

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.762.1.3.2.28

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: This object contains the total number of signed bytes read from LAN by SMB Application Optimizer since the SMB Application Optimizer was started.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the SMB AO. The last discontinuity time is indicated by the value of cwoAoStatsLastResetTime for the SMB AO.

What is cwoAoSmbxStatsRdSignLANBytes?

This read-only Counter64 contains the total signed bytes read from the LAN by the SMB AO since it was started, with discontinuities possible at re-initialization, indicated by cwoAoStatsLastResetTime. An admin uses this to see the original, pre-optimization read byte volume on the local (client-facing) side, providing the baseline against which WAN-side savings from L4 optimization can be measured. Comparing this to cwoAoSmbxStatsRdL4SignWANBytes gives an admin a rough sense of the compression ratio achieved specifically for SMB read traffic.
