readPtrWrPtrDiff

Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::readPtrWrPtrDiff

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.1.1.4.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The difference between the read and write pointer of a link in the common cell buffer. A lower value reduces the latency in the common cell buffer but also increases the probability of an IMA group being stalled for a cell-time due to a slower link in the IMA group Not supported in Forum Compliant Ima.

What is readPtrWrPtrDiff?

This read-write INTEGER (4..12) specifies the difference between the read and write pointer of a link in the common cell buffer; it is not supported in Forum Compliant IMA. An administrator tunes this as a tradeoff between buffer latency, which is reduced at lower values, and the risk of the whole IMA group stalling for a cell-time because one bonded link is running slightly slower than the others. For example, setting this value toward the lower end of the range minimizes added latency but increases the chance that a single slightly slower link momentarily stalls the entire bonded group.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.1.1.4.1.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::readPtrWrPtrDiff

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.1.1.4.1.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::readPtrWrPtrDiff.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.1.1.4.1.1.8.1 i <value>
