maxTolerableDiffDelay
Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::maxTolerableDiffDelay
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.1.1.4.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This indicates the maximum tolerable differential delay in milliseconds between the various links in the IMA group. The default value is variable and depends on the type of card with IMA feature: For AUSM-8p: 200 milliseconds for an IMA group consisting of E1 lines 275 milliseconds for an IMA group consisting of T1 lines. For IMATM: 50 milliseconds for an IMA group consisting of either T1/E1 lines. This is same as axisImaGroupDiffDelayMax of Forum Compliant Ima.
What is maxTolerableDiffDelay?
This read-write INTEGER (0..275 ms), equivalent to axisImaGroupDiffDelayMax in the Forum Compliant IMA MIB, specifies the maximum tolerable differential propagation delay between the various links in the IMA group, with platform-specific defaults such as 200ms for E1 lines or 275ms for T1 lines on an AUSM-8p, and 50ms for either line type on an IMATM. An administrator cares about this because links whose cable or path lengths cause a delay mismatch exceeding this value will be excluded from the IMA group rather than bonded together. For example, a T1 line with a significantly longer physical path than its sibling links in an AUSM-8p IMA group would need its differential delay to stay under 275 milliseconds or it would not be accepted into the bonded group.
