Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::ingrUpcIBS

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.2.1.1.1.22

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Initial Burst Size. The Burst size allowed for a connection that has been idle for some time. The unit of this parameter is in terms of number of cells. IBS is applicable only for VBR and ABR connections. IBS value should be less than CBS for VBR and ABR connections. IBS value will be ignored for other service types.

What is ingrUpcIBS?

This read-write integer sets the Initial Burst Size, in cells, allowed for a VBR or ABR connection that has been idle and is resuming traffic, and per the MIB must be set smaller than ingrUpcCBS for those service types, while being ignored entirely for other service types like CBR. Admins configure this to control how large a burst an idle connection can send immediately upon resuming without being policed, distinct from its steady-state burst tolerance. For example, a VBR connection that's been idle would be allowed to burst up to ingrUpcIBS cells right away, a smaller allowance than its full CBS, before normal burst policing applies.
