foresightQIR

Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::foresightQIR

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.2.1.1.1.32

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Quiescent Information Rate. The actual value depends on the speed of the logical port (which can be a T1, E1 (normal), E1 (clear), IMA T1, IMA E1 (normal) or IMA E1 (clear) port. Note that the IMA port's speed is variable and depends on the number of links in the port. In AUSM (4-port), maximum value is 4830.

What is foresightQIR?

This read-write integer sets the Quiescent Information Rate for a ForeSight-enabled connection, representing the rate the connection settles at during steady-state, non-congested "quiet" conditions between its minimum and peak rates, and is bounded by the actual logical port speed. Admins use this to tune the connection's baseline expected throughput under normal conditions, distinct from its congestion-driven floor (MIR) and burst ceiling (PIR). For example, foresightQIR might be set close to a connection's typical average usage so that ForeSight's adaptive algorithm starts from a realistic steady-state rate rather than immediately ramping from the minimum.
