Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::chanEgrPortQClpThresDiscardCells

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.2.3.1.1.25

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: This statistics provides a count of the number of cells discarded because of Egress Port Queue CLP Threshold exceed. This count is displayed for the queue corresponding to port and the service type to which this channel belongs.

What is chanEgrPortQClpThresDiscardCells?

This read-only counter tallies cells discarded because the shared egress port queue (for this channel's port and service type) crossed its CLP discard threshold, representing selective discard of CLP-tagged cells at the port-shared-queue level rather than an outright full-queue discard. Admins use this to see whether the port-level CLP hysteresis mechanism is proactively shedding lower-priority traffic before the shared egress queue fills completely (which would instead show up in chanEgrPortQfullDiscardCells). For example, a channel showing growth in this counter but not in chanEgrPortQfullDiscardCells indicates the port's CLP threshold discard is successfully protecting the queue from ever fully overflowing.
