What is chanConnDesc?
This read-write display string (up to 20 characters) lets an admin assign a free-text, human-readable label to a connection for identification purposes. Admins use it to make channel tables easier to navigate, for example naming a PVC after the customer or circuit it serves rather than relying solely on numeric channel/VPI/VCI identifiers. For example, an admin might set chanConnDesc to "AcmeCorp-DataLink" so the connection is immediately recognizable in reports without cross-referencing VPI/VCI values.
