ausmMastership

Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::ausmMastership

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.2.1.1.1.54

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This is used by PXM to determine if this end point is master or slave. In AXIS shelf, unknown is always used, but in MGX shelf, if unknown is set, PXM will fail the set request.

What is ausmMastership?

This read-write enumerated value tells the PXM controller card whether this connection endpoint should behave as master or slave in the connection setup negotiation, with the description noting that on an AXIS shelf the value unknown is always used, while on an MGX shelf setting unknown would actually cause the PXM to reject the configuration request. Admins must be aware of this shelf-type-specific behavior difference, since a value that works fine on one shelf type would fail outright on the other. For example, an admin migrating a connection configuration from an AXIS shelf (where unknown works) to an MGX shelf would need to explicitly set ausmMastership to master or slave rather than unknown to avoid a failed set request.
