ausmIngrFrDiscardThreshold

Module: CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-AXIPOP-MIB::ausmIngrFrDiscardThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.351.110.5.2.2.1.1.1.46

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable specifies the Ingress Frame Discard Threshold. Valid only when Ingress Frame Discard option is selected. By default, the value of this variable would be the peak queue depth of the queue. The value of this variable should be less than the peak queue depth that is configured for the queue

What is ausmIngrFrDiscardThreshold?

This read-write integer sets the queue-depth threshold at which frame-based discard (EPD/PPD) begins dropping whole frames, applicable only when ausmIngrDiscardOption is set to frameDiscard, and by rule must be configured below the queue's configured peak depth. Admins tune this to control how early, relative to full queue capacity, the frame-discard mechanism starts protecting the queue from overflow by shedding complete frames. For example, setting ausmIngrFrDiscardThreshold well below the peak queue depth gives the frame-discard mechanism room to act before the queue actually overflows and would otherwise be forced into less controlled cell-level loss.
