What is aal2ProfileVoiceCodec?
This read-write value configures which voice codec, such as G.711u, G.711a, or G.726, is used for calls under this AAL2 profile, with the default depending on the card's T1/E1 type and ITU profile in use. An admin sets this to balance voice quality against bandwidth consumption on the WAN gateway, since different codecs trade off audio fidelity for smaller per-call bandwidth requirements. For example, an admin trying to fit more simultaneous calls over a constrained WAN link might switch this profile from G.711 to a lower-bandwidth codec like G.726 at 32000 bps.
