c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold

Module: CISCO-WAN-3G-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-3G-MIB::c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.661.1.1.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: C3gRssi

Access: read-write

Description: The RSSI onset threshold value. If RSSI goes below the threshold and the service bit in c3gRssiOnsetNotifFlag is set, the c3gRssiOnsetNotif notification for that service will be sent. The absolute value of c3gRssiAbateNotifThreshold should be less than or equal to the absolute value of c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold (|c3gRssiAbateNotifThreshold| <= |c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold|). e.g. setting c3gRssiAbateNotifThreshold to -115 dBm and then setting c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold to -110 dBm is not allowed and will be rejected.

What is c3gRssiOnsetNotifThreshold?

This read-write threshold, expressed in dBm, defines the RSSI level below which the c3gRssiOnsetNotif notification fires for a given radio service, provided that service's bit is enabled in c3gRssiOnsetNotifFlag. An admin sets this to define what "weak signal" means for their environment, balancing early warning of degrading cellular coverage against nuisance alerts from normal signal fluctuation, and must keep its absolute value greater than or equal to the abate threshold. For example, setting this to -100 dBm means the router will raise an onset alert as soon as RSSI drops below -100 dBm, warning the admin of a weakening connection before it fails outright.
