c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold

Module: CISCO-WAN-3G-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-WAN-3G-MIB::c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.661.1.1.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: C3gEcIo

Access: read-write

Description: The EcIo onset threshold value. If EcIo goes below the
threshold and the service bit in c3gEcIoOnsetNotifFlag is set,
the c3gEcIoOnsetNotif notification for that service will be
sent. The absolute value of c3gEcIoAbateNotifThreshold should
be less than or equal to the absolute value of
c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold (|c3gEcIoAbateNotifThreshold| <=
|c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold|). e.g. setting
c3gEcIoAbateNotifThreshold to -15 dB and then setting
c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold to -10 dB is not allowed and will
be rejected.

What is c3gEcIoOnsetNotifThreshold?

This read-write threshold, in dB, sets the Ec/Io level below which the c3gEcIoOnsetNotif notification fires for a given service, provided that service's bit is set in c3gEcIoOnsetNotifFlag. Since Ec/Io reflects pilot-signal quality rather than raw strength, an admin uses this threshold to catch situations where the cellular signal is present but too noisy or interference-laden for reliable data service. For example, setting this threshold to -15 dB would trigger an alert once the EV-DO pilot's Ec/Io degrades below -15 dB, even if raw RSSI still looks acceptable.
