Description: Current 1xRTT roaming status, roaming is a general term in wireless telecommunications that refers to the extending of connectivity service in a location that is different from the home location where the service was registered: unknown(1) - roaming status is unknown. home(2) - connectivity service in home location. roamingWithSid(3) - roaming with SID. roamingWithoutSid(4) - roaming without SID
What is c3gCdmaCurrentRoamingStatus?
This read-only enumeration reports the modem's current 1xRTT roaming status in more detail than the general roaming object, distinguishing home(2) service from roamingWithSid(3) or roamingWithoutSid(4). An admin can use the SID-based distinction here to understand whether the modem is roaming on a network that at least identifies itself with a System Identifier, versus one that doesn't, which can matter for billing and carrier-agreement purposes. For example, a device reporting roamingWithoutSid(4) may be connecting to a network the carrier has weaker or no roaming agreements with, worth flagging to the admin for cost review.
