vsanNetworkDropLatency

Module: CISCO-VSAN-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-VSAN-MIB::vsanNetworkDropLatency

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.282.1.1.3.1.12

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CiscoMilliSeconds

Access: read-create

Description: Network latency of this switch on this VSAN. This is the time interval after which the frames are dropped if they are not delivered in the order they were transmitted. Note that vsanNetworkLatency is always greater than fcSwitchLatency. When the value of fcNetworkDropLatency is changed, the value of this object will be set to the new value of that object.

What is vsanNetworkDropLatency?

This read-create value, in milliseconds, sets how long this switch waits on a given VSAN before dropping frames that have not been delivered in the order they were transmitted, and it must always be greater than the switch-level fcSwitchLatency value. An administrator tunes this to balance how aggressively out-of-order frames are discarded against the fabric's real round-trip latency on that VSAN. Note that this VSAN-specific value tracks the device-wide fcNetworkDropLatency setting whenever that changes, so an admin adjusting the global timer should expect this per-VSAN value to move with it.
