cvIfCfgInGain
Module: CISCO-VOICE-IF-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-VOICE-IF-MIB::cvIfCfgInGain
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.64.1.1.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: This object contains the amount of gain inserted at the receiver side of the interface. The input gain settings only define a gain/loss relative to the 0 dB setting. The absolute loss at the 0 dB setting could be implementation dependent based on the desired network loss plan. The default value of this object is 0 dB (decibel).
What is cvIfCfgInGain?
This read-write Integer32 (-6 to 14 dB) sets the amount of gain inserted at the receiver side of the interface, relative to the 0 dB setting, and defaults to 0 dB. Administrators adjust this to compensate for lines that deliver audio too quiet or too loud relative to the network's designed loss plan. For example, if callers on a particular analog line consistently sound too quiet to the far end, an admin could raise this input gain setting to boost the signal before it enters the voice network.
